Varanam Aayiram Tamil Movie Release Date Postponed on 14th November – Says Gowtham
According to the Industry Sources, The maker Gowtham Menon has announced that the film Varanam Aayiram will be hitting the screens on 14th November 2008 as against the scheduled Diwali release. This will be a major disappointment for Surya and Gautham fans across the globe who were eager to watch the film during the festival weekend. The film has hot star Surya along with Sameera Reddy, Divya and Simran. Surya dons a dual role and what more he appears as a school student and has managed to get six pack abs after rigorous workout for the movie. Harris Jayaraj’s music is a major talking point of the film. He has composed half-a-dozen songs for the film. The film announced with a budget of 14 crores has drawn inspirations from the Hollywood movie ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks and has been made in a way to suit the Indian audience. A major portion of the movie was shot in Brooklyn University. After tasting success in ‘Khaakha Khaakha’, both Surya and Gowtham are confident of repeating the success in ‘Varanam Aayiram’.
The main reason is that the trade on the film, selling of distribution areas is going slow. Added to that in smaller stations all the good screens has been taken over by Aegan and Seval. The overseas distributor of the film has to get theatres, as Aegan has grabbed all the screens this Diwali. Two big Tamil films cannot be accommodated at the same time in FMS area. It is a very good decision taken by Gautham and his new partner in “Cloud Nine”, who will be marketing the film in Tamilnadu. A solo release on Nov 14 worldwide will ensure more screens and a bumper opening.
