Looks like the Malabar beauty did not get any further Bollywood offers and was waiting for a good offer. But then when she came to Chennai for getting her Kalaimamani Award from the TN government, she caught the Sura of South – Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay!

Remember a film that is in pipeline, for which ‘Jayam’ Raja is directing Vijay under the banner of Aascar Films? Yeah, it’s for the same project, say the sources in the know. After ‘Pokkiri’, we can see Vijay romancing Asin in this one! It’s also worthy to mention that Asin’s last film in Tamil ‘Dasavatharam’ was for Aascar Films.

Asin has scaled great heights in a short span of time. She started her film career with Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in Malayalam, but it was Amma Naana Oka Tamil Amaayi, her first film in Telugu, that made her a household name. With this Telugu film, news about her work, acting skills and beauty reached all corners of the South. Soon, Kollywood beckoned. It remade Amma Naana… into M. Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi; Asin reprised her role convincingly and walked into the hearts of every Tamil. Kollywood became besotted with this actress – it almost wanted her to act in every film it made! Everyone was enamoured by her beauty, energy and chirpiness. Then came a milestone in her career – Ghajini. Murugadoss knew very well that this girl would set new standards in the industry and Asin proved him right. Ghajini was a huge success and Asin was an inseparable component of that success story. The season after Ghajini saw her act with all the top heroes of Kollywood; she even became a widely-discussed name in the rest of India. The surprising fact is that her fan base stretched to include even little kids whose attention is normally riveted on the hero, his style and stunts! She has only added to her fan base after Dasavatharam, her beautiful eyes depicting mischievousness, vulnerability, and serenity. There is definitely something about her that makes everyone go crazy!

With every film she did, Asin became the heart-throb of the entire South – so much so that there was gloom when she went to Bollywood to act with Aamir Khan in the remake of Ghajini.  The movie went on to become a blockbuster and Asin was now rubbing shoulders with the glitterati of Bollywood. This year will see the release of London Dreams on October 30, her second Hindi release with another Khan (Salman) and the talented Ajay Devgan (now Devgn).

Kamal Haasan’s was originally slated to be an extended guest appearance, and he was expected to begin work on it after shooting for ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’. It, however, is learnt that Kamal Haasan had wanted a few changes to be effected in the script, which did not work well with the producers. Due to this, the actor has now backed out of the project.

There were talks earlier that the production house, Walt Disney, had planned on producing an Rs 120 crore mega flick with Kamal in the lead, but the actor later denied it himself. There were also initial suggestions that ‘Marmayogi’ would be produced by them.

Bollywood welcomed Asin with open arms. And today she is flooded with big offers.South superstar Asin paired with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan are featuring in movie named ‘London Dreams’. This is produced by Vipul Shah. Vipul Shah met Asin couple of times and he finalized her for his film. He is very much interested to add as of today in his film.

Meanwhile the pretty actress Asin is currently working with Aamir Khan for the Hindi remake of the super hit Tamil film ‘GHAJINI’. On the other hand she has signed for another esteemed project to be directed by Priyadarshan opposite Akshay Kumar. This film will be produced by Venus.

Rumors have it that Asin is also being considered to be caste opposite Shahid Kapoor and Big B in one film each. Asin’s pan-Indian appeal is taking her places extraordinary ladies such as Sridevi, Hemamalini and Rekha….south Indians who made it big nationally.
