Sun Pictures’ Vettaikkaran hit the screens on Friday with a record 600 prints across the globe. ‘Vettaikkaran’ was released in almost 75 theatres in Kerala alone, that’s the highest after Superstar’s Sivaji.

Produced by AVM, this Vijay starrer is promoted by Sun Pictures and with innovative promotions the film has begun to show results as early as second day. Sun Pictures made the right moves in building the anticipation around this Vijay’s movie even before the release.

Great initiatives by the Sun Pictures’ COO Hansraj Saxena are boosting the film’s success ratio. Just like their previous releases Sun Pictures has emerged as the Masters with the Midas touch with ‘Vettaikkaran’ once again.

This Kalpathi S Agoram of AGS Entertainment’s production will be challenging ‘Vettaikkaran’ that’s hitting the theatres on December 18th. ‘Kandha Kottai’, from debutant director Sakthivel has Poorna opposite Nakulan.

The entire movie revolves around Kandha Kottai, a residential colony. Nakulan is a resident of the place while Poorna comes to the colony for holiday. Nakulan hates love while Poorna has a great admiration for love. How they come together in life is the story of ‘Kandha Kottai’.

‘Kandha Kottai’ was at first produced by T.T.Raja for E S K Productions but, Kalpathi Agoram acquired the rights of the film.

Anyways, our ‘Vettaikkaran’ won’t be alone this weekend as ‘Kandha Kottai’ is there to share it all!

Looks like the Malabar beauty did not get any further Bollywood offers and was waiting for a good offer. But then when she came to Chennai for getting her Kalaimamani Award from the TN government, she caught the Sura of South – Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay!

Remember a film that is in pipeline, for which ‘Jayam’ Raja is directing Vijay under the banner of Aascar Films? Yeah, it’s for the same project, say the sources in the know. After ‘Pokkiri’, we can see Vijay romancing Asin in this one! It’s also worthy to mention that Asin’s last film in Tamil ‘Dasavatharam’ was for Aascar Films.

Says Lingusamy, “I am penning a story for Vijay, which would touch new heights in action genre. Plans are on to make the movie in a grand scale by making use of all latest technical advancements.”

On reports he would direct Chiranjeevi’s son Ramcharan Teja, the filmmaker says, “Yes. I am also planning to direct Ramcharan. His performance in ‘Magadheera’ is simply stunning. I have narrated two stories to him.”

Ask him about ‘Paiya’, he says, “it is a travelogue kind of action adventure. Karthi starts a journey from Bangalore to Mumbai along with Tamannah. The hurdles they face during their trip and they overcome everything is ‘Paiya’ to you.”

Set in the backdrop of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry area, Chota Mumbai tells the story of a few happy go-lucky fishermen from Chotta Mumbai Street, headed by Vasco (Mohanlal), fondly called ‘Thalai’ by his mates. Praising his esteemed colleague Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal said: The industry is proud to have an actor who could be looked upon as a fitting role model for upcoming heroes. Actor Vijay called a press conference this Sunday (September 13) to clarify his position as the media predicted that he would join the Congress soon. He answered on the questions like the criticism he faced from Tamil organizations for meeting Rahul Gandhi. He said that he discussed with Rahul Gandhi about the work of his ‘People’s Movement’ and Tamil Nadu politics.

The shooting of ‘Vettaikkaran’ which had resumed in the AVM studios after the fire accident, is now rolling in the locales of scenic Kerala. The team has moved the location to Athirampalli falls in Kerala where the actor is enjoying the beauty of the falls in between shots.
