Tamannaah, who is all set to capture the Tamil-Telugu industry, is celebrating her birthday today.

The sizzling and stunning actress had a great year with the hits Kanden Kadhalai, Ayan and Padikathavan in Tamil and Konchem Ishtam, Konchenga Kashtamga in Telugu, which won her the prestigious Shantaram awards for the best actress.

The gorgeous Punjabi lass became a hot favourite after her Telugu hit Happy Days, which has won several awards. Her performance as Madhu in the film is very close to everyone’s heart.

Well, 2010 also seems to be a great year for the Punjabi kudi with Paiyya opposite Karthi, which is getting ready for the release, Thillalangadi with Jayam Ravi and Sura with Vijay.

The latest buzz is that she may also team up with K.S. Ravikumar for his upcoming movie with none other than Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan.

The actress recently sizzled on the ramp when she walked for Nishka Lulla at Chennai International Fashion Week. She was also present at the grand finale yesterday where friend Shriya Saran was the showstopper for Neeta Lulla.

The names from Kollywood will include glamour queen Namitha and the cute Genelia. They will be joined from Bollywood by Koena Mithra (Honey Honey – Ayan ) and Neil ‘Johnny Gaddar’ Nithin Mukesh. Namitha walked the ramp on the opening day of the week for Chennai based designer Sidney Sladen, Neil too will be walking the ramp for him. Genelia will walk the ramp for Ishitha Puri while Koena will be doing so for Pria Kataaria.

What would have made the Censor Board officials to give an ‘A’ certificate to ‘Naan Avan Illai-II’ though the film didn’t undergo so many cuts? It is a handful steamy scenes in which Jeevan romance the five heroines of the movie.

According to reliable sources, there is a couple of smooching scenes too in this sequel to ‘Naan Avan Illai’, which is bound to raise the temperature in cinema halls.

“In the sequel, the serial womaniser (Jeevan) shifts his base from India to abroad countries. His modus operandi is different this time and the end result is steamy scenes involving Jeevan with Sangeetha, Lakshmi Rai, Swetha Menon, Hema Malini and Rachana Maurya,” sources add.

Directed by Selva, the movie is produced by Nemichand Jhabak and V Hitesh Jhabak. “The second part is more interesting and racy than the first part,” says the director.

This November our hero will start his next with director Mithran Jawahar. And as we had it earlier, this one is the remake of ‘Ready’. ‘Ready’ is a Telugu film, starring Ram, Genelia directed by Sreenu Vytla.

It’s noteworthy that Mithran Jawahar has given a hit with Dhanush in ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ and is working with the hero for ‘Kutty’.  And looks like Tollywood is serving a golden ticket to Dhanush each time now-a-days. In fact this lucky streak began with his ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’, a remake of the Telugu hit ‘Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule’. Then his ‘Kutty’ is also a remake of the Tollywood’s runaway success ‘Arya’. Cool right?

All things apart, this new remake will have the musical scores by Vijay Antony. Birdies say that the composing has started already.

Diwali fever is catching up at Kollywood and the final list of films that will hit the screen on this festive day is slowly getting firmed up. Jaganmohini starring Namitha and Nila, directed by N K Viswanathan will also be in the race but the genre of this movie is completely different and unique and if Kollywood sources are to be believed, it is neither action nor sentiment but a light hearted comedy involving magic. This feature is certain to attract the family audience. Current crop of children who are used to Harry Potter kind of magic will get to taste the desi magic in Jaganmohini which is a genre by itself.

Saravanan, veteran actress Saroja Devi, directors Balachandar, Balu Mahendra, S.P. Muthuraman, Dharani, Mysskin, A.R. Murugadoss, Hariharan and S.P. Balasubramaniam and others were present for the gala event.

Nayantara will essay the title role (Electra Alexander) in Electra, produced by Vindhayan under the banner of Rasika Entertainments. The movie is expected to start rolling by the end of November, after Shyamaprasad releases his ongoing Ritu, a tale of friendship that blooms in the changing social and emotional landscape of a small South Indian town.

Meanwhile, Nayantara is currently busy with four films: Adurs, Anjaneyulu (Telugu), Aadhavan (Tamil) and Bodyguard  (Malayalam).  The actress recently bagged a female-oriented role in Telugu flick to be directed by Kodi Ramakrishna of recent Tollywood mega hit Arundhathi fame. The movie is to be a socio-fantasy-cum-graphical extravaganza like Arundhathi.

After some unlucky days and back-to-back flops in the past like Kuselan (Kathanayakudu in Telugu), Satyam (Salute in Telugu),  Villu and Aegan, it seems Nayatara is all set to bounce back to her No. 1 position in the South.

The actress is currently busy with two films – Chikku Bukku and Kutty – and is in the process of selecting a few scripts that suits her. Shriya also revealed that though she gets offers from the Kannada and Malayalam film industries, she could not accept them owing to her busy schedule.
